I am glad that Katie talked me into the smaller size. A pleasure to do business for PERFORMANCE GEAR with people who are experts.
This anorak is extremely well made despite the reasonable price tag. I am a rancher in Montana and have been living in it during calving season. It is crazy warm but also breathable and comfortable on a 60 degree day. The kangaroo pocket has a handy interior organizer. For any ladies looking at this, the Small is a perfect fit for me at 5’8” and 155lbs. My only slight criticism is the wool can be a little rough right at the neck for us beardless folks - maybe a softer felt edge would be good? - but I am usually wearing a silk scarf so if I keep that pulled up it’s fine.
I was browsing the Arcturus website looking to purchase several more of their 100% virgin, untreated wool blankets to make an Anorak and lo and behold, they had already created one at a phenomenal price! I have already worn it to an outdoor party held in an open air pavillion in 28 degree ambient temperatures with 25 MPH wind gusts. With only a cotton tee-shirt underneath, I was very warm even while sitting. I normally wear a 2X, but went with a 3X since it would be an outer garment and the fit is just right. The only thing I would have added would be a cinch cord around each sleeve at the wrist. I am greatly pleased with the purchase and am now left wondering, when will Arcturus design and make wool pants to match !
Good fit, went with 3xl so it'd cover my firearm, as well as to layer up sufficiently underneath if need be. Only gripes I have would be that the buttons/straps for the throat overlap have ripped out, and the grommets for the pull-cord to close up the throat have become unbound and move up and down the cord now. Other than that it is a good wool anorak, however i wish the button straps and grommets didn't fail as they have.
Nothing like wool to keep you warm on a cold day. Thanks for the nice jacket
