Excellent Value for the Price

The wool is heavier and quality much better than I expected for the price. I have a 44+” chest and a 34” waist. The large was excellent fit, allowing for an Irish knit sweater underneath and freedom of movement. Two suggested improvements: the small button (attached to a ribbon) intended to enclose the throat area in severe weather is, frankly, not thought out, looks and is cheap. I took the anorak to a tailor to get rid of the button/ribbon, make the button hole larger and install a much more substantial and secure button befitting heavy weight wool. Secondly, the nylon inner pocket of the kangaroo pouch is also very chintzy and will not stand up to wear. I think the inner pocket should be made of wool or the cordura used on the shoulders, and include a snap or zipper to keep smaller ideas secure, particularly since the pouch pocket can not be closed. Details matter to me. These issues notwithstanding, I expect to get many years of hard wear with the anorak. An excellent purchase, particularly at the sale price. Hope this helps.

Great Quality and Warm

Well made and dense wool, hoping it will soften up a little with use. No complaints about the hood, it certainly is large to accommodate a good size hat underneath and then keep your neck warm. If I am just wearing the hood without a hat I just fold the brim up a couple of times and it does not cover my face. Really like the neck gaiter and how it unbuttons when you do not need the extra coverage or start getting a it warm. The front pocket is great for keeping your hands warm. 5,10 and 155lb - medium is perfect for me, same with the sleeve length.

Seems cool but not for me

Got the medium and the shoulders and hood were enormous but the waist was tight and it was too short. Putting it on was a wrestling match because of the tight waist. I contacted for advice about going larger but the CSR just copied and pasted the website info and called me Mark. I figured it’s time to cut my losses and get a refund, as I’m sure I’d be swimming in a large and the hood would cover my nose. Aside from the fit, doesn't seem as robust as my vintage Woolrich jacket which I aimed to replace, but it was pretty dense and cool looking. I wish it fit me better. I will keep looking.
