The Arcturus Lake Tahoe Wool Blanket is made from 100% recycled yarn woven from natural and synthetic materials providing both warmth and sustainability. These wool blankets were formerly a wool sweater, hat, or scarf, and now enjoy a second life to keep you warm. We triple-wash all our blankets during production and use a tight weave to keep shedding to a minimum.
HEAVY AND WARM- The Queen size Arcturus Lake Tahoe wool blanket weighs 7.5 lbs with a density of 550 GSM (that means nice and thick). This blanket will keep you warm, period.
GREAT LOOKING, LONG LASTING-Loom-woven and hemmed on all sides with contrast lock stitching, our blanket looks right at home in the field or on your couch, while standing up to rugged use and abuse.
PLENTY OF ROOM FOR ALL- This large Queen size blanket measures 90" X 96" and will keep you and a friend cozy while camping, at a tailgate, football game, or, of course, just on a good-old fashioned bed.
100% RECYCLED WOOL BLEND- Wool is a time-tested natural fabric that will keep you warm, even when wet. 90% of this blanket is recycled wool while the remainder of the blanket is composed of 10% hypoallergenic synthetic fibers for durability and washability. Wool is a naturally fire-retardant material. The blanket itself is not treated with any additional flame-retardant chemicals, making it safe for you and your family.
MACHINE WASHABLE (if you must) -Every Arcturus wool blanket is triple-washed during production so you can use it right away. However, at some point you'll probably want to wash it. We recommend using a detergent formulated specifically for wool for best results. Like all loom-woven blankets, this blanket will shed during the first few washes.
To keep shedding to an absolute minimum, we recommend hand washing your blanket in cold water. You may also machine wash your blanket separately in cold water on a delicate cycle. Avoid top loaders with a center agitator as they can cause damage and will increase shedding.
To extend the life of your blanket, we also recommend line drying. Dryers are hard on clothes and blankets alike, and line drying is much gentler.
I have always wanted to have a wool blanket for my bed at home. I just didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices that they go for. Because of this, I did some research and reviews and came across this Arcturus blanket. The price was pretty great, so I decided to buy it as my first entry level wool blanket. I am glad I did. I am pleasantly surprised with the quality and softness of this blanket. Once you get under it, you get warm within several minutes. I am looking forward to using this, this winter with the Midwest winters and snow that I currently live in. I would recommend this blanket to anyone looking for a first blanket, as I was, and I would buy this blanket again if I had to do it all over again. Plus the customer service and shipping were very excellent and very fast. I will be doing business again with Arcturus again in the future.

Great, just a little stinky on arrival.
It’s a nice warm heavy blanket! The weight of it is impressive, honestly it’s a little like a weighted blanket. Ours did smell a little bit like a 3rd world manufacturing factory out of the bag… that kerosene heat smell..? It was ok after a ride in the dryer with a couple dryer sheets and airing out for a couple nights. I guess I could have washed it but I didn’t have any of that lanolin wash stuff on hand. I would certainly buy it again and recommend it to a friend or relative, in fact I already have.
